Beauport spent the first part of 2007 cruising the Caribbean on her way to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.By March she was safely secured to the dock in Key West. Work continued inside and out while a decision was being made where to spend the hurricane season.
Cartagena, Colombia was finally chosen as an ideal spot as not only is it out of the hurricane belt but there are good ship yards there. Beauport was hauled out in October and had shafts replaced, the bottom redone and many other things to improve her overall condition.
By mid-December she was splashed and preparations were made for a cruise back up to Panama, retracing the route that she had followed on the 2005-06 cruise.
Old friends were visited in San Blas and new ones made.Portobelo was as beautiful as ever for the returning guests and a wonderful place to discover for the first timers.
Beauport arrived on the Pacific side of Panama during the first week of 2008. The guests disembarked in Panama City and Beauport made her way back up the coast to La Paz,arriving in February to almost the exact spot that she had left over two years before.
